Frequently asked questions about design
-
How should I set my artwork?
There are a number of ways to set artwork for large format printing, please see the design and print section of this website for advice.
-
How do I submit artwork for printing?
Firstly please make sure you have read the design and print section of this website for advice on how to setup your files; this should minimise any risk of file error.
Once completed the first and probably most obvious is to submit your artwork is to post it to us on disc. If you do this, please print a copy of your order and include it with the disc.
You can also email the files to studio@exhibitionstore.com if they are under 10mb per email. [Please stuff or zip the application file as they can become corrupt during emailing]. Also, include the order reference given to you upon purchase.
If you have access to an FTP site we can download from there.
-
Will I be able to use an image I took on my digital camera?
This really depends on the type of camera and size you want the final image. As a quick rule your image needs to be 300dpi at 25% of the final size you want your print (without any software enhancement). See the design and print section for further details.
Frequently asked questions about exhibiting

Why do I need to exhibit?
Exhibitions have a number of advantages over other types of marketing. The right kind of people visit exhibitions and are not only there to see you but are much easier to reach, the buyers come to the sellers. Many visitors are company directors or other senior management; these are often the people who are much higher within organisations than you traditionally would speak to, these are people with real decision making ability. Also about half the visitors are 'middle management' where nearly 9 out 10 have some purchasing responsibility.
Also, the ambience can be right. The exhibition hall is a neutral environment, allowing for changes from the usual selling approaches. Staff on a stand have, within reason, a visitors undivided attention so there are far less distractions. Visitors can be introduced to products and services far more effectively, rather than a presentation on home territory.
The leads achieved at exhibitions tend to be hotter and faster to convert. Research shows that on average every third person is in the market for a new supplier.
Another advantage is that exhibitions can be used to demonstrate larger products that regular clients may not get the opportunity to see.
Exhibitions also offer an excellent chance to do market research; the people who influence a product or service are walking right past you rather than at the other end of a telephone. Also an exhibition will also offer marketing opportunities with trade publications etc.

How should I design my stand?
Exhibitionstore.com can help with all aspects of design but in the meantime we are pleased to offer our top tips:
- With graphics, the only limitation is imagination, with all the latest technology even the smallest stand can be brought to life.
- Also you don't always have to go for colour, black and white images can be even more effective.
- Colours are very important, some 'trendy' colours can date a stand very quickly. Also remember that dark colours can 'enclose' a stand.
- Text should be kept to a minimum. Where possible opt for pictures before words, and any text used should be shoulder height to be noticed.
- Any designs should be made primarily to grab your target audiences attention, informing people can be done once they are on your stand.
- Lighting is very important. Opt for low voltage lighting that is designed as an integral part of a stand. Try using different coloured bulbs.
- Plants can add warmth colour and environmental concern.
- On a stand DVD and video presentations should be kept short in length as visitors are unlikely to watch a long presentation. Also on a small stand this will take up a lot of room.
- Desks are unnecessary, they can act as a psychological barrier.

Definition of product categories
Roller and tensioned banners: Generally easy to use for stand alone graphics whether on an exhibition stand, as branding throughout hotels for products launches or in show rooms. Some products either come with lights or can have them added as an option; these highlight the graphic message and help get you noticed.
Panel Systems: These are a traditional but very popular budget way of creating a display area suitable for accepting posters using Velcro.
Pop up Stands: This is one of the more traditional ways of creating a large seamless graphic area to display your message. Some can be linked together to create larger more complex stands. Ranging in features careful system selection can increase the flexibility of your display stand.
Twist linking systems: These are one of the more recent additions to the range of display equipment and can create large graphic areas offering very flexible and cost effective solutions.
Modular Stands: Modular stands can be used to build larger stands supporting heavier products and plasma screens, and can include a wide range of other features. For modular stands we recommend a tailored solution as the variety of options is so great and each client requirement will vary from event to event.
